Already Representative Marty Seifert has made a name for himself as a “vocal” Minority Leader. Heck, a new word has already been coined for his outlandish attempts a folksy one-liners: “Seifertisms.” Well, it seems as though we can add one more to the long list of head-turning Seifertisms.
On Thursday of last week Representative Seifert spoke to a large crowd at the League of Minnesota Cities Breakfast. At some point the conversation turned to why the Democrats had been so successful in the last election cycle. Rep.
This quote has been repeated to me by a number of people who were present at the event and a Forum Communications reporter said that the quote “more or less sounds accurate.” I have been trying all morning to get a hold of the Minority Leader and was supposed to speak with him shortly after one o’clock. But as it is now more than an hour and many more phone-calls later, I am proceeding with the information I have. The only response from the Minority Leader that has been relayed to me is that “something similar was said but the quote as is, is not completely accurate.” I eagerly await Mr. Seifert’s correction but operate under what has been confirmed to me thus far in the mean time.

Hearing a Forum Communications reporter quoted as saying “the quote is more or less accurate” brings back memories of late October 2006, and “You’re nothing more than a Republican Whore, goodbye.”
Made me smile. Politicians say the darndest things.
Perhaps he meant that one gets Dubya as president in the same way one gets gonorrhea : Dubya does to the nation what he promised Bin Laden.

That can’t be true! Gonorrhea CAN’T have an approval rating of 30%. No more than 18% tops — same as President Cheney’s. So I’m sorry, Mr. Seifert, the (pretend) President is MORE POPULAR than VD!

Seifert ought to declare for president. He obviously has a better grip on reality than most of the clowns running for the GOP nomination.
